Translations, age and previous marriages
Applicants must be at least 16. Under 18 requires written consent from both parents. Ask ServiceGuelph for the consent form.
IDs not in English or French need a certified translation supplied with the original. Guelph lists a valid Ontario photo health card as acceptable, unlike some other municipalities.
For a Canadian divorce, provide a Decree Absolute or Certificate of Divorce in original or court-certified form. For a foreign divorce, get ServiceOntario’s authorization letter first; the city says that process can take up to four weeks. The ceremony must occur within three months of licence issue.
